This flight case, with an 8U capacity, is the perfect size for transporting; audio amplifiers, lighting dimmer racks, power distribution panels or other large and weighty kit.
The external dimensions are; 42 cm x 53 cm x 59 cm, a practical size which can be transported in a car if needed.
The case is constructed from heavy duty ply, with in a aluminium sheet, stucco textured finish on the outside.
It has 4 large recessed industrial grade butterfly catches, 2 spring loaded recessed flip handles, ball corners and a sturdy wheel board with 4 x 75mm industry standard non-marking castors.
There may be some light surface patination and bits of wear and tear, but everything works as it should.
Both the front and rear covers can be removed, rack strips are fitted to both the front and rear sections. The depth between the rack strips is 38cm, note that the end covers are quite deep, so deep casings as used on some audio amplifiers can still be accommodated. The rack strip on the front is 8U, but I have mounted 9U of kit inside it before, as there is sufficient clearance, the rack strip on the rear is 6U and was installed to a mount power distribution unit and custom input/output patch panels.
It came with a hole in one corner where someone had mounted an IEC mains inlet connector.
This type of heavy duty road rack style flight case would cost from £150 upwards new. I have priced it at £70 for a speedy sale, the castors alone would cost half this price alone.
