Sold - Albiral 21" Industrial CRT Video Monitor - £39

I have recently seen a lot of love amongst retro video games fans for old Sony Trinitron CRT monitors and thought this similar item might be of interest. It is an Albiral CRT 4:3 aspect video monitor screen with composite, s-video and RGBS inputs. Whilst not a well known brand, Albiral have been producing high end industrial and commercial monitors for decades, rugged kit designed to provide years of rock solid service with minimal maintenance.

This 21" unit looks a lot like the ones we used to build video walls with when I first started doing events in the early '90s.

It's a 4:3 aspect ratio screen in PAL (UK) format. Of special interest to vintage computer and retro game lovers; it not only has inputs for composite video and S-video, but also RGBS (Red, Green, Blue & Sync). I don't recall ever using the RGBS inputs, I assume they will work with standard UK PAL and quite possibly sync to some of the lower resolution VGA (640x480) frequencies too.

The outer case is all metal. It is currently housed in a substantial flight case, which can be included for an additional amount, should this be of interest. Please be aware that this is a heavy duty and weighty item; due to courier restrictions regarding weight and glass content it will not be possible to send out. Sold - Mackie SA1521 Active 15" 2-way Speakers - £599 the pair

For sale are 2 Mackie SA1521 Active 15" 2-way Speakers, available as a matched pair, complete with custom padded covers.
They have been protected by soft covers from new and used mainly for conference or awards use, plus the odd private party. They are in near mint condition and have proved to be reliable units, offering an impressive, room filling output for their size. Yet they are small enough to fit in a hatchback car with space to spare and can be lifted by a single person (but watch your back).

For sale - Mackie SA1521 active speakers - £599 (pair)

Each speaker contains a 500W amplifier and boasts a 133dB output level. They can be pole or subwoofer mounted, but for safety reasons will require heavy duty stands with a wide footprint. Please ask about suitable stands if you don't already own them.

The front grill is made of a very sturdy steel construction. And just like a touring cabinet, the trapezoid shaped cabinet is made from marine plywood, not the flimsy moulded plastic found on typical budget units.

Review:

Pair these with a set of Mackie Subs and you can handle almost any room. They are a little heavy, but remember the amps are built in! They sound just as good at the back of the room as they do in the front. Can easily handle a small outdoor event (using only one pair). If you need to do a large venue, they daisy chain together with no loss of signal. I've owned these for over five months with no trouble at all (play every weekend). Would like to hit a couple week long gigs to see how they holdup (one year warranty). Sound wise...I haven't heard anything better...I've used Peavey/JBL/EV and a few lesser brands, the Mackies are every bit as good and somewhat better than all. Crisp Highs, Excellent Mids and Deep Lows They are a little expensive for small working bands, but at least you don't have to buy an amp.

They are in excellent, near mint condition and are priced at £599 per pair including the soft covers. The sole fault I can find is that on one the led light in the grille doesn't illuminate. You are welcome to collect from South London, it might be possible to send via pallet to your UK address. But please note that delivery will be extra and should be around £70 for most UK locations, excluding the Highlands and Islands.

For Sale - Cube Flight Cases - £59

I have two of these smaller (almost) cube shaped cases to sell. Their external dimensions are 49 cm x 48 cm x 47 cm, a very practical size which could squeeze into the back of a car.

They are constructed from lightweight plywood covered with a hard wearing black textured plastic finish. They were previously sign written, but these marking have since been removed and the panels blown over with silk black paint where necessary; they are currently in very presentable condition and ready to be put back into service.

The interior is lined with high density foam; should this is not be to your liking, you should be able to remove the foam with a sharp wallpaper scraper in a matter of minutes.

Both cases have a solid plywood and aluminium divider for the projectors that used to be housed in these cases. This provides a handy space to store cables, remote controls or any conceivable type of accessory. The divider is held in place with a handful of rivets, for those that want to utilise the maximum capacity of the cases it would be possible to drill out the rivets and remove it. If you don't have the necessary skills to do this yourself, I can do it after a unit has been purchased.

There is a substantial hinged lid with a retaining wire, it is held in place by two butterfly catches. There are four industry standard flip out carrying handles. At each corner are ball protection ends.

In summary, these are well made cases in good condition and are a practical and useful size with many potential uses; from smaller guitar combo amps to smoke machines, lights and projectors. They are a great size for people who need to carry their kit in a hatchback and move items single handed.
