Sold - Soundcraft PowerStation Mixer Amplifier - £199

This great Soundcraft PowerStation powered mixer amplifier is now for sale. This was my go to piece of equipment for many years and was used at many events from small private meetings right up to full scale conferences for hundreds of delegates. This model was a common model for many audio visual hire companies thanks to its great performance and flexibility. It has; 8 mic / line inputs, 2 mono/stereo line inputs, aux sends and a versatile, Lexicon branded, effects unit. The amplifier section is capable of providing 265W per channel into 4 Ohms, I can't think of a single situation where it ever lacked for power.

For sale - Soundcraft PowerStation - £199

It is a good unit for medium sized conferences, for audiences of around 200, possibly even up to 500 with two pairs of speakers. It would also be good for any band with some 12" or 15" speakers to play backing tracks, keyboards and vocals through.

The Soundcraft website has the following to say about the PowerStation:
Incorporates circuit technology identical to that used on some of the most sophisticated Soundcraft consoles. The mono input channels are able to accept a wide range of Microphone and Line level signals from separate input sockets. Every mono channel features wide range gain control, 3-band Equalisation with swept Mid section, plus a Hi-Pass Filter, 2 Auxiliary Sends, one of which may be switched to a dedicated FX bus to feed the built-in Lexicon Effects Controller, PFL(Pre Fade Listen) and panning to a Stereo Bus. Each channel has a pre-EQ, pre-fade insert point and is controlled by a high-quality linear fader.
The user manual is available for download here

It is in excellent electrical condition, all the faders slide freely without crackles, all the knobs are present and work smoothly.

There is no modern equivalent product in the current Soundcraft range; but Yamaha, Mackie, Dynacord and even Behringer make similar products for around £500-£600.
It is now priced at £180, the price includes delivery within the UK. I can send to some European locations too, but please ask for a quote first as this could be quite a high sum.

Sold - Soundcraft PowerStation 350 Mixer Amplifier - £150

This great Soundcraft PowerStation 350 powered mixer amplifier is for sale. I bought it as a standby unit to cover for equipment failures and to keep handy for use at smaller events. This model was the baby of the Soundcraft PowerStation range, even so, it still has; 6 mic / line inputs, 2 mono/stereo line inputs, aux sends and a versatile, Lexicon branded, effects unit. The amplifier section is capable of providing 175W per channel into 4 Ohms.

For sale - Soundcraft PowerStation 350 - £150

It is a good unit for smaller conferences, for audiences of around 100, possibly even up to 250 with two pairs of speakers. It would also be good for a smaller band or duo with some 12" or 15" speakers to play backing tracks and vocals.

The Soundcraft website has the following to say about the PowerStation 350:
Powered mixers fulfil a widespread need for simple integrated tools that remove much of the hassle involved in setting up a sound system, whether it be a permanent or temporary installation. The inclusion of amplification means that you can plug speakers straight into the mixer, without worrying about finding an external power amp. But a live mixer will also often include additional features that are usually performed by external processors - such as reverb and delay processing, or graphics EQ.
This integrated approach offers several advantages. Most importantly, the mixer and amplifier have been designed to complement each other electronically, so there's no possibility of mismatching between mixer and amp. When time is tight, setting up for a club gig, having everything in one box can mean peace of mind. There are fewer leads to unpack and connect, and fewer boxes to set up, leaving more precious minutes to soundcheck and prepare for a performance. In a permanent installation, there are advantages - a powered mixer is much more compact than separate units, saving valuable space. And if you're setting up an installation from scratch, it's easier to choose a well-designed powered mixer than to pick out several separate boxes to perform the same task.

Applications:
  • Medium PA
  • Gigging bands
  • Rehearsal rooms
  • Presentations
  • Outdoor event

It is in excellent electrical condition, all the faders slide freely without crackles, all the knobs are present and work smoothly. Note that there are a couple of scratches to the paintwork on the front panel, nothing to spoil the function, just cosmetically unsightly, see the photos below.

Sold - Samsom S-com Stereo Compressor/Limiter - £55 each

For sale are 3 Samsom S-com stereo compressor/limiters. They were part of a recording rack, so have been protected from new and used exclusively for conference use. They proved to be easy to set, reliable units, providing excellent volume levelling for digital recordings, without any nasty peaking, whether through sudden bursts of applause, or just plain bad mic technique.

For sale - Samson S-com stereo compressor/limiter - £55

The Samson website describes this unit as follows:
The S com is a dual-channel, single rack space stereo compressor designed to control signal levels in a variety of applications. S com's logical design and layout make it simple to understand and easy to use. Its sonic integrity offers clean, distortion free audio, and a predictable, usable range of control from undetectable to clearly identifiable. Each channel combines an Expander/Gate, a Compressor/Limiter and a fully adjustable Enhancer. This unique circuit reduces noise, increases loudness and recovers high frequencies that might otherwise be compromised when audio is heavily compressed. The Spectra switch adds a mid-band boost to the detector circuit to help smooth out harsh vocals. The Expander/Gate features a variable Threshold control and switchable (fast/slow) Release time. The Gate's operation is easily visible with twin (open and closed) LEDs. The S com's Compressor/Limiter controls include Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release, and Output. The Auto function continuously analyzes the audio input, and automatically adjusts the attack and release parameters based on the changing level. A Key input and Key Listen feature provides for external triggering, or EQ, of dynamically processed signals.
Further details, tech sheets and manuals can be found here

For sale are 2 Mackie SWA1501 active subwoofers, available as a matched pair, complete with  custom padded covers.

For sale - Mackie SWA1501 active subwoofers - £700 per pair

They have been protected by soft covers from new and used exclusively for conference or awards use. They are in near mint condition and have proved to be reliable units, offering an impressive, trouser flapping sub bass output for their size. Yet they are small enough to fit in a hatchback car with space to spare and can be lifted by a single person (but watch your back).

These Mackie 1501 active subwoofers are from era when units were still made in Italy, before manufacturing shifted to China. Many believe that this was a golden era for Mackie and quality control suffered on the later units.
