Sold - Vintage Compaq HP Evo N160 Laptop PC "Green" - £39

This Compaq HP Evo N160 laptop computer is one of a fleet of machines that used to be our conference presentation laptops around the time of the Millennium. They were not dry hired and have remained an amazingly well preserved time capsule of the late Nineties / early Noughties period of business computing.

This example with the fleet name "Green" hasn't seen active service in the last decade, but fired up immediately without issue and has continued to run on soak test reliably. The battery has lost the ability to hold charge, which is unsurprising given the unit's age; likewise it is fair to assume that the Bios battery will need to be replaced too.

As with the other ex corporate laptops currently for sale, it has been cased it's entire life and used relatively little compared to a personal item, it is still in good presentable condition. The keyboard surround is faced with a rubberised finish which has become very sticky. It seems that this is a common occurrence for this type of finish with no options for restoration. However it can be removed by rubbing a lint free cloth soaked with methylated spirits or isopropyl alcohol.

MS Office 2003 productivity suite is installed.

Compaq laptop, a wide variety of ports available

The desirable Pentium III mobile processor is a favourite for vintage PC game aficionados. With such a wide variety of ports and drives it could be a useful media hub for a vintage computer fan. The Firewire port could also be used with an external capture card to record retro computer game console action.

It is priced at £39, the price even includes delivery within the UK. I can send to some European locations too, but please ask for a quote first as this could be quite a high sum.
