Time Out - The House in London that's a 3D Illusion

A new art installation in east London is freaking out passers by with its apparent defiance of gravity.

Dalston House by Argentinian artist Leonardo Erlich, which was commissioned by the Barbican Centre, appears to show visitors to the site in Ashwin Street, Hackney, that they are hanging from window ledges or leaning against sheer building walls of a 19th-century town house.

Nothing but an optical illusion

However, the whole thing is nothing but an optical illusion created by having a mirrored positioned overhead at a 45-degree angle. It's just like the old theatrical adage "It's all done with smoke and mirrors".
